A Fresh Start for LivingRGV, and an Invitation to Valley Businesses

August 2, 2026

LivingRGV is starting over — and we're inviting Valley businesses to be part of it. Here's what we're building, and how to claim your spot.

The Rio Grande Valley runs on its local businesses — the taquerias, the coffee shops, the salons and boutiques and bakeries that give each of our cities its own character. LivingRGV exists to help Valley shoppers find them, and to help those businesses reach the people already looking for them.

We've rebuilt the site from the ground up. This is a reintroduction: what LivingRGV is now, what it offers local businesses, and how to be part of the founding group we're bringing on first.

What LivingRGV is

LivingRGV is a local business directory and deals platform for the Rio Grande Valley — McAllen, Edinburg, Mission, Weslaco, Harlingen, Brownsville, and more.

The idea is simple. Shoppers browse and connect with local businesses for free. Deals and coupons are the front door and are the reason people come and keep coming back. Save money in the RGV, support the businesses next door. For the businesses themselves, a listing on LivingRGV is a way to put your name, your offers, and your story in front of Valley shoppers looking locally.

What's different this time

We'll be direct: LivingRGV is being rebuilt because the Valley deserves a directory it can trust. So we're doing the unglamorous work first.

Every listing is verified. We check that a business is real, open, and accurately described before it goes live. No dead links, no closed shops, no sending someone across town to a business that moved three years ago. A directory is only worth anything if what's in it is true.

It's curated, not stuffed. We're not chasing a big listing count. We'd rather have real businesses represented well than a giant list nobody trusts.

It's genuinely local. LivingRGV is run by people in the Valley, for the Valley. Our editorial coverage, the guides and roundups on this blog, is written honestly, based on real merit. Coverage is earned, never bought. That line matters to us, and it's permanent.

What LivingRGV offers your business

Here's what a listing gives you.

  • A verified, professional listing that puts your business, hours, contact info, and location in front of Valley shoppers browsing locally.
  • A place to post your deals and coupons — the offers that bring shoppers in the door and give them a reason to choose you.
  • Enhanced listing features — photos, coupons, priority listings, and more.
  • A spot in a curated, trusted local directory — not a faceless national site, and not a junk list. Being represented well, in good company, on a platform built to be believed.

We're honest about where we are: LivingRGV is early, and we're building the shopper audience now. That's exactly why joining now is worth it — you get in at the founding stage, on founding terms, and help shape the platform as it grows rather than arriving after everyone else.

Who we're inviting first

We're bringing on our founding members now — local businesses of all kinds, across all six of our cities. Whatever you offer the Valley, if you're a local business that wants to reach nearby shoppers, this founding group is built for you.

As a founding member you get:

  • Founding-member terms, locked in.
  • Ground-floor positioning as we grow the shopper side of the platform.
  • A direct line to us. Early members help us build this right, and we listen.
